that was a good topic to look back on jeff, i have been wfp long time now and i have some of my deep neck tissues have been damaged, with on going muscle spasms, and early signs arthritis

sleeping is difficult, finding right position,  working is painful confined myself to domestic now, thankful i have two staff.

tried the anti inflammatory for a year not much relief.

best thing i was advised to try is acupuncture, every three weeks now and have taken up palates thought it was a bit girly at first but brings great relief and helps to inculcate better posture which works trys to undo

but i was surprised how in sports or in work- we continually  stress muscles one sided with out being in  balance with our spines. i think when were young we dont pay much attention just bash it out

learning to simply De-stress the muscles before and after work is useful habit to get into. also seeking help to get better posture whilst working was good advice foe me  as its surprising how quickly our bodies can be reeducated, and how we can be reeducated to listen to them as well .

most of the problems we suffer with, either  tennis elbow and the sciatica and neck problems all emanate from the same area of the back dependant on our own  inherit strengths and weaknesses and window cleaning puts great stress on these areas either traditional or wfp

I have big probs here. Last August I got a cortosone injection in my left elbow. It was a toss up if it was to left or right. Cortosone sorted my left and the right got better too. About a month ago the left started to go again and got much worse, including stiffness on the outside of the joint. Another injection = no change. I have now changed from right handed pole work to left handed to see If this will help. Too early to say.  I was surprised by the guy who had an op (was it Ladder no more?). Tennis elbow is inflammation of the tendons. How do you op? I am also doing more trad, both left and right handed, to try to reduce the repetitive nature of my work. (wagtail flipper is the biz)

The worst thing for it i've found is cleaning conservatory roofs - i think it's the extra pressure and repetetive action that does it.
I can be cleaning fine for hours then a slight change in the angle of my wrist or arm and i get an incredible shooting pain in the forearm. Once it's there it goes on for weeks. I cant straighten my elbow these days.
Ruined my sex life - i'm going to have to sleep with the wife instead.  ::)

Yep, same here. got tennis elbow in october, never had it before, caused by pole work. Had my first session at physio last week & it's been a lot worse since ???

It's a nightmare but I have found if you relax your right (for right handed people) hand more & don't grip the pole as tight it helps while working. As someone else mentioned, the worst thing is picking a mug of coffee up!!! I cant go left handed either as I have no left front or rear deltiods- snapped nerve & they wasted away. I do however, still have my good looks. ;)

When they opperated they moved the tendon off the bone so that it is not rubbing causeing pain I was in agony for 2 years but as i said after 6 injections and a lot of antinflamatery tablets there was only the opp left but you have to ask the Doc about an opperation

Type in Google Tennis elbow opperation and all will be explaned

I've fortunately had no such problems yet,.. and I hope to avoid them.
In your opinions as sufferers of these conditions, what are the major causes, and what are the best ways of avoiding it?

Is it simply from using heavy poles and repetitive motions?

Could using lightweight poles and switching arms for each job help?

In my experance of this problem not rearly, its not just window cleaning that causes the problem, doing diy at home eg useing hammers, screwdrivers, Etc if your going to get it its just one of those things.
Any sport eg Darts, Snooker, Cricket ,etc and the most common Tennis lol.

A £4 bottle lasts you quite some time, it tastes like really cheap vino, rinse your mouth afterwards or your teeth will start to decay as the vinegar reacts with the Calcium.
Course I have tried it I dont reccomend anything much including wfp unless I have used it for 6 weeks or so.
I dont need it three times a day, its only a spoonful with water and swallow in one go. if you like vinegar on your chips you will be ok.Remeber the name honey and vinegar or "honeygar" try it for 2 weeks and see.
