Credit crunch tip No 2

For those of you that are after commercial work

write to all the schools in you area and offer to take on a work Experience  kid on as part of  a contract arrangement ,they are crying out for work Experience  employers.
you would have to be crb checked and insured though.

A placement is only for one week, so I'm a bit puzzled by this suggestion and it's for 16 year olds.

Derek, CRB (Criminal Records Bureua) Checks are what Ian Huntley should have had so his suitability for being a care taker could have been scrutinised, then of course, denied a job around children!

Costs about £20 I think, perhaps another positive to add to your credentials!!!

You don't pass, or fail, a crb check, you get a report back which will show any court appearances and the outcome.
There are two levels and  for working around kids, which in reality we all do, you need to ask for the " enhanced " check.
The record is sent to the applicant and should be available to potential employers, who can make an informed decision before employing anyone.

Yes I have one and it's clear, but I hate working around kids nowadays with the paranoia that abounds. Sad world.

crb comes in 2 kind

1  standard for just genral

2  enhanced  ,  which covers from school reports to anything every recorded on you.
if you are working directly with children then assaults and other convictions are not able to be spent.

but considerations will be given ie what kind of conviction and how long ago.

As Neil says

An enhanced check shows everything ............................but it's your property and you only divulge it, if requested, which could happen, but unlikely, as when cleaning around schools, etc, there are normally no kids around.
