elbow grease mate and a hot water solution of whatever you use. had to do a pub in town that had not been done for 16 years (before the smoking ban) i ended up leaving them and not collecting. the landlord still laughs when he sees me. :P
traditional cleaner, shop windows and some pubs.

Make sure you take some paper towels or kitchen roll with you.

I discovered it by accident a few months back, and wish I'd known it years ago.
It's great for getting rid of smears that you've left!

In fact I do the entire inside of a georgian pub with towels from the bogs.
The job is much easier now! :)

Sugar soap and hot water, then clean as you would normally.

I used to do all schools in the old Inner London Education Authority,  the staff rooms were disgusting, everything covered in nicotine slime.  There were about half a dozen firms all speciallising in schools and each employed maybe 10-15 men.  We tried everything we could, soap, detergent, vinegar, you name it.  Nothing worked, always left smears.  Then some bright spark tried plain, ordinary water.........

Bingo!!    For some reason plain water dissolves the stuff far more effectively than any sort of solution, and when you squeegee it, it comes off clean.  If you squeegee after swabbing with soap solution there's always a scummy, slimy residue.

sugar soap first, towels to buff smears at the end.

Pubs are a 'dream' these days with the smoking ban!  No nicotine covered windows!

Just do it twice.

That's what I did too. the water in the bucket looked like blood when I had finished.
