Thinking of hiring somone to help with extra work
« on: February 01, 2009, 10:56:07 am »
My business is slowly getting bigger and starting to think about getting some help. Problem is I'm worried about it for some reason. Is it more trouble than it's worth for the bit of extra money or is it the best thing some of you guys have done? I would be hiring someone part time at first as there is not enough work to last two of us the month. Any advice appreciated.

If you take someone on a part time basis and as long as they haven,t got any other form of  income you can pay them upto around the £110.00 per week mark without yourself or yr helper been liable to tax or ni contributions. ;) This way will help you move yr business forward!

I think if your going to do it , take them on as employed either full or part time , you will find that when you dont have enough work for them to do you will actually find extra work for them just to make sure they have earnt thier wage

I did this around 6 mths ago he only works 1.5 days a week but we get through a lot of work together, I dont regret taking him on 1 bit hes worth every penny
