ro system snapped from being frozen
« on: January 11, 2009, 10:48:15 pm »
Went out to turn on my ro system and found half of it was on the floor. It was frozen solid and must have snapped due to expansion. Anyway it cant be repaired the large screw threads are not available as spares so I've had to order a new one. Its a bugger coz even if it did work the water butt is frozen solid.
Before you ask no I never protected it as I do all other winters and just my luck it has been the coldest since early 90's.
I've ordered the new one from ro-man and just hope it gets delivered quick, its the size up from my old one but will still connect straight up in no time.

If it takes anywhere near that long then I would have to cancel the order. You cant run a business if you wait around that long for things

Similar thing happened to me last week with my Merlin. The plastic casing on the pre-filter cracked  because system froze solid. Couldn't get a replacement part so have had to buy a new Merlin. Got to go and buy a shed now to house it.
