Hi all

1. Just been to my van and everything is frozen - I have put a couple of heaters in there to thaw it out - anyone else having same problems also how are you dealing with it?

2. Monday last week I went to do a clean and the water froze on the glass I had to wait a couple of hours for temp to rise before I could get on - heard a few guys put something in the water - what is it and does it leave markson the glass?

stoopid thing,

do a forum search for

isopropanol - it has been discussed many times, so there will be a good library of useful information at your disposal - what it does, how it work in your system, how to use it etc..

Personally i dont use it, i dont have the need to being down south compared to you colder lot up north

My system was frozen for about three days last week as even during the day it never got above freezing and their was far too much snow anyway
Have got everything wrapped up cosy now with insulation jackets and old quilts

i bought myself a oil filled heated from screw fix. £27.40 it was

in the van now even though its not gonna be very cold tonight, but it will start a habit,

everything froze up on Sunday night, and split a pipe in my l5, just managed to repair it now though

wont be letting that happen again

mine frozen this morning

my first customer came out and gave me her hair dryer, i thawed it out whilst she made me a coffee and biccies  , then the fuse had blown, so i changed it

cost me about 1 hour, i need to sort out my spare pump again, so i can take it in the garage at night

No problems for me i had my tube heater on all night in the van.
Only trouble i had was keeping the van on the road this morning

b&q recycled loft insulation behind every ply pannel in the van(2  rolls for £15 at the mo), di and pumps wrapped in the stuff covered by bubble wrap and parcel tape, all pipes foam lagged and a £8 fan heater from wilkos turned on for 45 mins before work on extra cold mornings.

What I do is put a fan heater on a timer to come on for 15 mins every hour from midnight on till when I start at 5.30 am ,works great,,or another tip lay over your pumps ,pipes and hose reel a cheap (argos £14 ) electric blanket or use the one on yer bed if you can get away with it ,stick it on low or again on a timer and like me no more solid pipes in the morning !!(unless it's 20 below of course,then if it is bring the van in the house,that works too !!)

i use a compreser to blow all water out of L5 and hose then put poles on the end to blow water out then turn pump on ot get last bit out 6 minets in the evning , 2 minets in moorning to get water back thow pump & heater . then tune gas on so its hot & of i go

Ive just been starting out a little later. I park my van outside open doors facing the sunlight. Then by about 10 am I'm off to work. Only downside is that I work till dusk.
