Facelift cf 24ft v SLX
« on: November 17, 2008, 04:12:57 pm »
I have the facelift & its now wearing out, so time for a new pole!
But do i get another facelift or change to the slx when there back in stock?!
People were raving about the slx when it came out but now a few are moaning about the clamps.
Your views are welcome!
Thanks

I have both & sinse getting the slx i haven't used the facelift!!

the slx is an actual (approx) 3.5ft longer when extended, a true 25ft, where the facelift is approx 21.5ft & this extra length is very, very useful. Also the slx is much shorter when closed down & so is a true "one pole does it all" from ground to an approx 29/30ft reach.
The clamps i find are great, although take a wee bit of getting used to. For me it's no contest when you weigh everything up- SLX all the way! ;) Stick a super-lite brush on for a perfect combination.

How would you compare the wear on the poles?

18 months of abuse & the facelift is still pretty good.

SLX i've had approx 6 months & apart from the initial surface wear (as with all poles) it's still as good as new.

To be honest I don't look after my poles, i never clean them, i tend to throw them around a bit, just a workhorse to me. I should probably start looking after them a bit more. ;)
