I have a problem with my SLX. As you know form a conversation a few months ago I strip my SLX down weekly to flush through the pole with water. I had the same problems to start with as many others in that the clamps on sections 1 &2 were always working loose. I followed the instructions with the loctite and it made no difference. This has gone on for so long. At one point I could not open the clamps fully as the bolt was preventing the clamp lever from fully opening. This started oi-n section 1. So I took the bolt out and cut a small amount off it. No problem clamp then opens fully. I have over the last 6 weeks or so noticed that the amount yoou can tighten these sections is getting less and less, in other words the visible gap on the section to which the clamp is attached has more or less disappeared. So todaqy I removed the clamps completely from 1 & 2 (as the clamps are once again at the stage where the bolts won't allow them to fully open) I noticed that the neck particularly on section 2 (holding section 1) is very thin in half of it in fact almost paper thin. This woulkd account for why there is now very little allowance for tightening. I am in a quandry as to what to do esp as the neck on these 2 sections are thin and as I understood it the section ends that hold the clamps were made to be much thicker than the rest of the pole?
Please can you advise me what to do next? Is it a warranty problem?

The clamp adjustment range and length of bolts on some of the first batch have proved to not have enough adjustment range. What we can offer (and have done for several others from the first batch) is to have the pole collected by our couriers. We will then give it a full service which will included re-seating the clamps and refresh anything that needs it. The pole will work like new once we have finished with it.

If you could ring the office on 01726 66400 to arrange for collection or email me your full collection details to alex@agardiner.co.uk and I will arrange collection, this could probably be arranged from Tuesday if that fits in with you. If you have to be out it can be left in a porch etc.
