cheap diy extension for pole
« on: December 01, 2008, 07:53:40 pm »
bought two bits of 2 metre black waste pipe from bq one is inch and a quater other is inch and half , total cost £2.80
the pole i made this for is an extender but it should work for other fibre glass poles that have a base section of inch and quarter .
simply just cut the inch and a quarter down about 12 inches shorter then slide it in to the inch and half pipe stick a few self tappers or pop rivets down it to hold the two pipes together and give it more strength and ridgity the extender will now slide in to the top of this pipe giving an extra 6 feet or so once you remove the but protector from it .
i was using it today for the first and it worked fine for the odd 3 storey window ,quicker then getting another pole out .
if you wanted you could cut a slice in top of the pipe and add a butterfly jublie clip on it to stop the pole spinning havnt got that far yet myself ,
hope i havnt made this sound difficult it very easy and cheap to do

was in b and q yesterday and did the same...... the black pipe is a perfect fit for a diy harris pole .also bought the largest white waste pipe which also fits perfect to my largest pole giving an extra 3 metres reach all in all its very cheap and surprisingly usable
both pies cost under a £5 great value way to extend..
