i would forget about it now.... if she seems ok about it... but just be careful in the future.
its far too much messing about with glue, etc etc... and you will probably make a mess of it , and dig a deeper hole....
I tend to ask if the lead is prone to coming off... as i will be using a brush...
they all say its fine dont worry.... i then ask again , are you sure?
its not permission to damage it.... but at least they are aware of the possibility,
also i think any kind of scrubbing, buffing , brushing will eventually shift the cheap stuff....
its happened to me both trad and wfp....
but i never repair it. too much hassle for what its worth,
let the customer sort it... they know best... as they probably stuck the bloody stuff on.
