Re-fitting carpets
« on: November 10, 2008, 01:07:57 pm »
At the UK Flooring Academy we run short intensive carpet fitting courses in the Midlands. We have had quite a few Carpet cleaning companies send guys along this year. Are there many Carpet cleaners branching out into fitting and re-fitting?

Earlier this year I went on the IICRC course organised by Alltec at the Leicester Training Centre used by NCCA. The course was advertised thru NCCA.

Showed how to fit gripper, underlay and carpet and deal with seams in carpets, re-tufting and replacing damaged areas of carpet.

I thoroughly enjoyed the course and thought it very useful. The information gained always is of great use even if you don't have to apply it as you can understand problems in carpets and explain problems to clients.

It didn't cover things like fitting on stairs. Would this be the sort of thing your training course would be covering, Kevin?
