RO units/trolleys
« on: November 04, 2008, 07:18:41 am »
hi lads n Gals,

I have not been able to get on until today. Im glad its back up and running...was getting suicidal ::)

RO UNITS

I have been looking at some RO units... Now I am no expert at all in this. I have spoken to a few suppliers of RO units and Trolley systems. Obviousy what they are selling they say are all good. But I have been told alot of RO units are for standard drinking water or for fish tanks. And not actually designed for window cleaners...as consumption they produce is not enough.

I am going to get a static set up, but want to produce around 400 gallons per day. As I dont like waiting around. Probably will get a light commercial RO unit.
Plus my work will easily grow and I dont want to buy twice.

Trolleys
I have had a look at the purefreedom trolley, I like it alot as it can be left in the van and you can then run a truck moumt system from it as all parts are easily accessible. but dont think it carrys enough water as a trolley system. I have also been told it suffers with AIR LOCKS as yuou have to swap over the 25 liter tank. Does anyone know if this is true?

I dont want a complete truck mount just yet as I run mainly a cleaning company, but have recently won a few window cleaning contracts. Which more than pays for a WFP systems so now its time to invest.

thanks

Dave

i started with my freedom trolley out of a car with barrels. if you wait until the barrel is completely empty every time then you get small problems with air locks as do all trolley systems. a barrel when you get going will do 1 house normally so just swap in between . i now have a box trailer and run my trolley as a static unit with a 250 litre tank . i have got 50m of microbore (but 100m ) would be fine and it works great . the only difference i have done is replaced my battery with a large leisure one now my trolley does not move. i work 3 days a week at moment and so only have to charge battery up once a week and it is always still more than half charged. in my trailer i also have some barrels just in case i need a bit more water some days. the pure freedom trolley grows with you so you do not have to upgrade. hope this helps. the only thing i did wrong was buy a 100gpd unit. it supplies me enough but is on 7 days a week filling an ibc. my mate has a 200gpd genuine ro and it seems to be a lot more productive.
