cat urine

Anyone found a product that actually works on cat pee.
I have tried just about every product on the market and yet to find one that really works. Our cat has just met our new puppy, run upstairs and peed on my daughters carpet. The whole room absalutely stinks and I`ve tried everything on it. Truckmounted it and followed up with Urine Contamination by Chemspec - stankafter that. Just tried drenching it with a solution of fibre and fabric rinse to try and neutralise it foloowed by deep clean and followed up again with Urine contamination yesterday but just got in tonight and the stench is worse than ever!
any ideas.

Clive,
Is the cat a tom or female?
If you have a tom then it will be harder to eliminate the smell.
Get a urine neutrelizer and saturate the contaminated area leave 48 hours then re-apply, keep doing this until the smell has gone. Urine neutrelizer works by breaking down the salts in the urine, the chemical reaction works over time and is not instant.
It can be a long process in most cases.

Clive
Go on Prochems website and click on News and then download the latest issue of Cleaning Specialist - there is a Q & A page about stains and one of the questions is about cat urine smell and their suggested way to remove it.

Thanks for you replies. Ive tried Prochems neutraliser in the past but never really had any decent results with it. Mark, which neutraliser do you use? Might try the tennants approach!

i hate cats, pulled in 100' of vac tubing the other day and along with it came a good lump of cats poo, bloody stuff was on my trousers and top and had to hose down the vac tubing as well. dog owners pick up the poo, why not bloody cat owners!!!

Chemspec urine contam treatment should be used in conjunction with kill odour. Clive I will send you a bottle of something to try.

We have 2 cats the Mrs thought it a good idea to get them, they have followed me around in 3 house moves and like a bad penny they won't go, 1 actually got lost but the 'thing' came back 6 weeks later,
Clive, Dave L actually floods the carpet and then soaks it in an enzyme leaves it to dry naturally over a few days.
