In the South West I always recommend Bristol Batteries ltd. Google them.

we use US Power batteries.  a little bit expensive but good batteries, battery megastore sold them but they don't seem to stock them anymore.

Picked the brains of an auto-electrician last week, as I have been through a lot of batteries, and he reckons todays leisure batteries are not up to what we do.
 He suggested gel batteries are the way to go, so I am going to try them next.

gel batteries are leisure batteries, they are normally classed as ultra deep cycle.

A guy I know who supplies and fits batteries told me the leisure ones would be no use as I use a split charger and leisure batteries are designed to be used till flat or almost flat and then recharged. Tld me best would be a car battery as they are designed to be charged continuously from the alternator and would therefore last longer.

agree with that 100%
running em flat does em no good
thats what i have  been told by a local mobility centre,two seperate companies who supply
its also what i have found to be the case
