his advert reads very well, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets some interest.

and not everyone packs in carpet cleaning because they ain't making any money, some people just get disillusioned with it because it not what they thought it would be.

Maybe there just seems to be a lot of carpet cleaners deciding to make a career change all at the same time.

I think Mike has a point. Chap seems like he knows what he's doing and in a strange way this could be a better investmen than a sprinter and a truckmount if clients and systems are in place.

Also when most people start off in CC the idea of £60 an hour when they have been on £6 is like a dream. Running a business builds skills you can ultimately apply in more profitable areas and less hard on the body.

For the right person this seems a good package, even tho its a R reg van.

However you would have to be in that area, March, to get the value of his database and goodwill - no good for someone 100 miles away say.

and

if the buyer was a newbie then he would have to be up to speed pretty quik with his cleaning skills or he would be losing clients had over fist if the seller has that good a reputation.

but the potential is there fo rthe right person.

Just read half the first line:- he says that its an NCCA registered CC business, giving the impression that this is transferrable. We all know its not as membership is on an individual basis so is completely useless :-\

He goes on to say that it is professionaly run business - but only does it part time! He also wrongly states that the buyer will get work from the NCCA website - it wont be there once he sells it ::).....although he does further add that the buyer will have to register with them ;)

Thought exactly the same when i read it Kev,first thing buyer will have to do is remove NCCA logo from the van. as member number is for the person who did the course.

Fair and informative comments Andy. I guess he should really have explained it a bit better in his advert ???
