RO Set in garage
« on: September 26, 2008, 07:30:20 pm »
I don't want to be the bear of bad news but winter is on it way.....

I've got the RO in the garage and would like now know what you do to keep the RO warm through the winter?

I was thinking about putting a heated blanket around it over night, Will that work?

Blanket works well for me too. Only had problems in the van with the hose connections freezing up a couple of times, so bought a small electric oil fired radiator, extension lead, timer switch for 4am switch on and by 8.30 van is defrosted and warmed up inside. 8)Syd

Buy a sheet of kingspan insulation sheet and line the box than surrounds the filters (which you'll have to make) and they'll never freeze again!!!

Buy two, one in RO box/shed garage and one for the car/van - toasty and no windscreen scraping or frozen hoses. I also have a paraffin back up for when the eleccy goes off.
