What would your response be?
« on: September 22, 2008, 01:21:15 am »
The senario:

Bear in mind every new lead is a potential customer for life.

In good faith your passed a lead by a fellow CC, who offers you a finders fee should the job lead to paid work.

Would you then:

A - Follow up the enquirey, maybe you get the job maybe you don't - Mail the CC who gave you the lead to let them know the outcome.

B - Follow up the enquirey, maybe you get the job maybe you don't - Don't bother letting the CC who gave you the enquirey in good faith know the outcome.

C - Follow up the enquirey, maybe you get the job maybe you don't - Don't even bother to acknowledge the initial passing on of the enquirey with a thank you, let alone let them know the outcome of the enquirey.

It just gets my goat in business when people don't respond, or take way to long to do so. If I didn't reply to a customer enquirey within a max of 24 hours I would feel that I'm letting it slip - when people take 5, 6, 7, days or longer, I just think there just taking the pi**. Is it me or do all the companies we deal with, i.e. Chemical supplies, Website designers / website Optimisers and best of all printers seem to not want our business? they seem to do nothing until you ring and kick them in the arse - un - be - F***ing - lievable!!!

Ok that's all, Just blowing off some steam - haven't slept for 2 nights, soon to be 3 no doubt, I'm sure there is a perfectly good explanation. >:(

oh dear paul you'll not go far!

Sorry I didn't get back to you but between working 7 days a week, moving house and running 2 businesses trying to fit in being a dad and some very bad news in the family my memory did slip, and no the person involved was too far for me to cover.

Life goes on mate, some of us old timers are busy with things you know.

Yes I agree that was an over reaction from me.  ::)

I hadn't slept for more than 48 hours after a chemical burn to my neck (not with CC chemicals but a bleaching agent, don't ask!!) anyway alcohol and pain killers didn't help so I guess I was not feeling myself that night.

APPOLOGIES SHAUN

Paul

Not with CC but when I was first trying to set up referral schemes with other businesses I ran into a problem I didn't expect.

Many don't want or need the extra business!

Talking to established companies in the area they had built up a solid customer base over years, although like me when they started were desperate for business. The other factor was capacity. They had no way of capitalising on the extra business and certainly not for extra effort.
