If only that was how software worked, Microsoft are still updating XP, how many years old is that?

Yeah but windows is considered a finshed product whereas I would say WCP is not yet.

Andy,

How do you mean fully working as intended. It is fully working, however I intend to keep adding to it all the time as per users requests.

Ian

Hi Ian,

Sorry I hope I didn't offend?

I just mean - You must have a masterplan with it? A finished product in mind?

At the moment I just prefer the calendar/diary view that George offers more than the worksheets in WCP... WCP does have more bells and whitles though that are all very useful!

Andy

Hi Andy,

No offence taken. I have worked in software development for nearly 10 years and the biggest pitfall with any product is the inabaility to change. The first release was what I intended and have since added features that have been requested by users. I am sure (and hope) that many other feature requests will be submitted. I also have many ideas (like marketting modules, submitting accounts online, google map integration to name a few) so can't really say that the product will ever be 'finished' per se.

I have nothing against people not wanting to change to a new product, but to say that WCP is not finished is a little harsh :-)

Most PC programs never have a finished  product in mind, they are always a "work in progress".

Just take Windows (yes i know its a OS not a program), its was always being updated and had service packs stuck on, then they moved to a flashier Vista, which again will always have more updates and service packs on it.

WCP is always looking to progress, you can see that by how quick Ian is to respond to any concern you have with it, or bug report. While your trailing it, request more features!

Ive not used George, but im sure there may be something that can be improved on and implemented on WCP.

Still, everyone will prefer one thing to another, just like trad vs wfp :P

I have been using the program and I think it is excellent.
Ian has given me, and from what I understand others, the opportunity to tailor/add a few addaptions that would help me, and probably others.
I have never known such an interactive response to a working program.

Ian, is there a list of expected updates so that if there is anything we feel we can suggest we can check if its not already been suggested?

Ive look on the WCP forum but nothing there.

On my site there is a list of things to come, however this list changes quite frequenctly as you can imagine.

I would welcome any feedback on the list so far.

Hi Chris,

No there is no where to enter an actual time against a job.

Did you mean you were adding a job note to be printed on the worksheets? If not then you can always add a job note and select it to be printed on the worksheet.

yeah thats how im doing it now.. bit tedious and easily forgot.

Be easier on the scheduling screen if it asks you what time, or you can add a time.

Its would really help alot when it comes to appointments for quotations. Im always losing my phone pad! i think i have abut 6 floating about the place.  :-\

I would like to see on the screen that it tells me that i need to ring the customer the day before without having to print worksheets out first. basically have a notes coloum for each customer that i would see on the same screen as all the contact details.

You can still say whether the cusomter needs calling ahead but it doesnt show on the screen which is what p1w1 wants.

So Ian any chance of doing that so that at a glance you can see who needs to be called / texted the night before rather than having to go into each customer and see. For those of us with big rounds or who do admin work the night before in preparation for the next day it would really speed things up.
          Thanking you in advance
