Bob,
Good luck, hope you have a speedy recovery. ;)
Dont rush back before you feel 100%, i had my ankle operated on 2 years ago and rushed back to work after 3 weeks. Only managed 2 days then had to have another month off to recover from the damage i had done in that 2 days. ???

Hope it all goes well Bob. Wouldn't hurry back to work if I was you, I tore the ligaments in my knee years ago and that took months to heal.

Presume you will be on here a lot then, I'll think of something we can battle over to keep you occupied   ;)

Good Luck.

Ive had keyhole surgery on torn cartilages in both knees, each time only needing a week off work. All depends on how strong your leg muscles are prior to surgery. Once the initial swelling has gone (a few days) it shouldnt be too bad, but dont force any bending of the knee as you dont want re inflame it. I went for a 7 mile run two weeks after the first op, three nights on the go. Ended up re inflaming it and had further problems for 11 months after, although I still managed to work. The secong op, I was working after a week, walking the 3 Peaks after two weeks, but didnt run for 5 months, and have had no further problems in the 5 years since.

Bob,
you must be paying a fortune for your sickness policy if it cuts in so quick, most dont pay out until after at least 3 months of incapacity.

I got rid of my policy because I would sub the work out, the policy I had cut in at 4 weeks with 75% of my income.

Dont get me started on this!!!!

I did my knee in playing rugby in March of this year. (Yes at 50+ I should know better) but I love it.

Paid for my own fizio for first 4 weeks but realised it was beyond her abilities.

Went to local Dr who refered me to consultant, (who trained with JPR Williams, if you dont know rugby you wont know) that was further 4 weeks before I got an appointment told I would have a MRI scan in 2 weeks time and after that results would be further 2 weeks. They never came, I rang and rang and rang countless times. 4 weeks later I got to see him, day after that the letter came by post to say my appointment was for the day before. Brilliant.

As Richard Littlejohn would say, you couldnt make it up.

I have been told in the end I have damaged cruciat ligament and damaged cartlidge. Told consultant I need my knees etc for work self employed etc etc.

I can have the keyhole operation in 11 weeks time.Brilliant.

Should get my next game on the aniversary of the first break.(Dont tell her, she threw myboots away but I found them.Ha)

So when this Blessed Margaret Hodge or this b....y L....r Government say they have cut waiting times down to X weeks.

They are talking absolute cr@p.
