trying to get a drill reel to work

hey everyone im trying to get this drill reel idea going in me van but for some reason when i connect it to the reel it just judders, im running it of the van battery but its got just as much power, is there a certain amount of power the drill needs, if so how do i know which drill to get?

I used a makita cordless,you need to get a drill bit from screw fix.

You need a two speed drill on the slower setting.
