Staying smart.....not angry
« on: September 06, 2008, 09:24:50 am »
Went to clean a second floor apartment, had keys for the job to find a Plumber still working there (supposed to be finished 2 days ago!) very apologetic, so we agreed I would work around him set up equipment, vacuumed around and started in a bedroom. Ten minutes later in walks his Boss, obnoxous type "got Mr wet carpets in have e ?", gonna soak the room, etc. To which at this point I started to boil, but decided i'd bring thim down a peg or two.

The plumber said "Go and have a look at his machine and he came to where i'd placed the EMV. "very fancy" he said "but does it do the job?" "oh yes" i said "even voice activated!" "no way" says he so sucking him in I reach the remoe control in my pocket and say "vacuum 1 on, vacuum 2 on, pump on, heater on" and push the switches in my pocket. He stands there absolutely gobsmacked. "can I operate it?" he says "ok, but you will have to get close while i programme it"  So he puts his head cose to the machine and starts talking to it, whilst I stand there trying not to break into hysterics. I say to him ok its programmed and he talks to it again but nothig works.

About 5 minutes later he is puzzled as to why it doesnt work for him. "Hw come it works for you then?" he says. "Oh must be you dont have one of these" I say and produce the remote control. He mutters some obscenities then wals off, to which me and the Plumber have a good laugh about it. Made a good end to the day!

anyone any similar stories?

There is a lot of doom & gloom around at the moment, so anything to brighten the day! I have had a few other people with the remote & voice control since, and they've laughed after!
