Pure water doesn't go off once it's in a sealed container and kept out of the sun.
www.ro-man.co.uk have RO units with built in pressure gauges. For starting out a 100GPD (get the pro one with the bigger DI) unit should be ok,.. you can always upgrade it or add a pump at a later stage.
I'd get a bigger water butt, or just a 2nd one. Making water is slow,... 200 litres wouldn't last a day unless you're doing tops only. I'd recommend a 1000 litre IBC tank if you've space for it.

I'd also recommend a small DI (11 litres or so) to keep in the van. If you're ever stuck for water you can re-fill using the DI from a custies tap.

Hi

as have been said above

pure water doesnt go off, algee does start to grow if left in the sun

as your not going to be using loads of water to start, you have a option of the 100 or 75 Gall per day

w ww.ro-man.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=1576

75 GPD costs 85 quid from RO MAN, you will be able to fill your 210 L water butt in the shed and your 25 L barrels at the start of the week, then leave it fill as your working

a 75 GPD done me for 3 years, i worked 8 hours 3 days a week, i would start the week off with 14 X 25 L barrels and a 210 L rain water butt, sure at the end of my last day ( wednesday ) i only had 50 L of water in the barrel, but it does me great

personally i would connect a hose pipe and run it into the shed and keep the RO unit and the water butt in the shed ( this was it will keep the frost off it

try it without, the flow will just be slower

no, you will just need a RO and DI unit

200litres would be more than enough for those ten houses you're going to be starting off with at weekends.

You can increase size of your storage tank as you grow!

very true, storage tanks ?water butts are cheap and easy to upgrade
my 1000 ltr was free (thru this site ;Djust had to pick it up) before that i had 3 150ltr water butts
an ibc is easier tho :)

i have a 100gpd which is fine at the moment. but for the extra pennies start with a 200gpd and it will last you a long while.

Hi, I've just started at this too and have made myself a shed with two IBC's in it. The first one collects the rain water off my roof and can be topped off using the trusty old hose pipe if no rain. The roman 200gpd system then, by way of a pump, fills the second IBC. I just draw off that into 25litre drums for my trolley.

I wish I knew how to insert pics in this. I'm just curious as to what all you guys think of the set up? Is it just a cut, copy paste thing?

The question I would have is, Would a larger DI be of use when the ro is producing water at around 4ppm?
Steve Bell,
SB Cleaning.

(also; HIP & EPC provider but with this climate.....)

it would mean you just have longer between resin changes

only the changing as Matt said, having 2 inline would save on resin in the long run  ;)
