I'm no expert, since I haven't been doing it this long, but here goes.
With drip marks, do you mean the little spots going in a vertical line?
Occasionally you get windows like this. Did they have top openers or cross bars? If it's just a single pane, *I know you said you already did this, but perhaps give the frame more time* I would do the frame first (for a couple of windows in a row) and then when the frame stopped dripping sufficiently, do the glass. Some frames seem to keep dripping and dripping, also check where it's coming from, some windows have weep holes (dunno if that's the right word) and they leak forever, some windows just have seals which hold water drips forever. You can try catching those drips that hang on the top of the frames with the bristles, flow off. I personally find these windows a pain, I always carry a microfibre with me on those, so that on ground floor windows, I quickly wipe the top seal, on top windows, it's just a matter of keeping your eyes open, and give a quick squirt over the run after you've left the window. I always double check these windows, to see if there are no drips coming down.
Regardless, it's just contaminated water from the frame running down the glass, over time if the frame gets cleaner and cleaner, the drip marks will get less, I'm not sure if that counts from Alu windows, but I'm sure NWH or others will inform you on those particular windows. I'm not experienced enough yet. I would assume that if they are not oxidised, they shouldn't give you too many problems.
