Help with commercial quote please
« on: August 10, 2008, 05:27:47 pm »
How much do you think?

1. 6 monthly
2. Inside and outside
3. Outside will be done by wfp and inside trad. The inside of the glass tower can be reached easily with a ladder.

Thanks in advance

Just because i would pole it would mean nothing to me,the price for doing it trad is the price i would give.100 odd quid for a job like that is polers driving prices down, before you know it we`ll be back earning the same as we were trad but working harder for it.

Forget it someone will come along and do it for 80 quid or something silly providing they can clean in any weather conditions.,for that price they`ll get the job every 12wks that`s what your up against on commercial these days.

you can't say that for sure! i would go in at around £120 - £140. 6 monthly if you can afford to not have it i would say £200. i've pulled it off before, other times i haven't i would make it worth my while as it ain't very regular. but ultimatly its wether you want the work that bad or not ;)

Thanks for your input but I think that is a bad attitude to have. :o You are advising me to walk away from quoting because of something that 'might' happen.
It costs nothing to put a quote so therefore I have nothing to lose.

I would quote yes, but on my terms, I do not need the work so there is a difference, would be silly not to quote as you may get your price what ever it maybe, you may even be cheaper than others you do not know if you do not try

Of course you have nothing to lose i`m just telling you what your up against when quoting on comm jobs, when i quote these days i never need the work so i always go in and above the average price.9 out of 10 times they take the silly price and then ring me at a later date to do a proper job.

if you don't need it, then don't scrimp on the quote for the sake of it!

I wont be scrimping on the price to get it. Ever since I started my biz I have put in prices that I would be happy to work for. Like I said earlier, I dont 'need' it so I will put a price in that wil put a smile on my face if I get it but at the same time I dont want to put a ridiculous price in.
I am reasonably new to the commercial side hence this post so thanks for your help. You have confirmed my price is in the right ball park.

I would rather not say mate cos there are some local WC's on here and they might recognise the site
