Breakages

One of my cleaners broke a customers vase while cleaning, the customer has advised me that it was worth about £30. Would you normally just deduct this from the bill and the cleaners wages or go through your insurance?

my insurance states that items of a brittle nature are not covered my insurance and there is also an excess of £50.00. I have incorporated this into my Terms and Conditions that the customer has to read and sign before commencement of contract.

Have you nothing like this in yours?
anyone with facebook can add me at this link ...  jan 'minkeedj' kindon  .... if you can be bothered lol
