I am usually really good but I don't go to work to be abused, she swore at me 4 times and stuck her fingers up at me. I don't care how old they are I just don't need it when I'm trying to earn a crust!!!

Sounds like Nana from the Catherine tate show  ;D

NWH I assure you that you don't pick up any of my work (unless of course you've recently started to operate in London SW15 in which case you wouldn't be wfp).

Chris: The vast majority of the houses that I clean have concrete sills that are painted and flaking so impossible to wipe clean. If it's the occassional upvc sill and it's minging then I might (just might) give it a quick wipe down. But I charge to clean the glass and it's never been suggested to me that I wipe down frames and sills by any of my customers so I'm not about to start that malarky and make a rod for my own back ;)...ner! ;D

Ive found over the years the first question 6/10 times is "do you clean the frames".
Now before we went sfp 4 years ago we always wiped sills but now with wfp gets done anyway. I Found i picked most of my work up advertising the fact we wiped frames and sills as most in out area at the time didnt.

i am wfp and on top windows i run my brush along top sill and on bottoms i have always wiped them. they all like it and it gives you a more proffesional approach, because wet sills does leave marks .i know it does after the rain but they can only blame the rain then.

I've found it to be about 1/50.
Do you live in some sort of grimy industrial area?

People are grateful that they get frames done, but no-one asks.

They might be wet but there clean, and by clean i mean right underneath the sill in the little groove that you trad boys miss everytime when i pick up your work. ;D

How can you tel they are as clean as what you state, without going up ladders or hanging out the window it would be impossible.
I am wfp and clean the sills as best as i can think without going up ladders, but on occassions when i do a gutter clean,of which i do use ladders,i can see that sometimes the sills do have more crap on them than i thought...

When I heard you saying (paraphrasing a post or two you made a few months back) you don't get the "good luck" that Ian Giles and Roy Harding get when it comes to recommends I thought it was just you being negative, Rog. - but thinking about it when I have asked custies why they recommended me they nearly always said something like "because even though you aren't cheap you wipe the cills and do the frames".

I've come to the conclusion that doing the frames and cills (even if frame tops and edges are every other clean or third time in reality) is the best antidote to the wfp haters you'll ever get - at best you get good paying recommends, at worst you are tolerated and not dropped.

What does it take to run a brush along the top of a cill and wipe the high eye-ball ones downstairs with an old towel?
It's a game of three halves!

I do.
I never said I didn't. ;D
I just said people never ask for it.
