For low level work, up to 25', we just buy the Brodex Predator poles, £156, or £119 for the 18'. 

They had an offer on a couple of months ago, buy one get one free, so we got two 25' poles for basically £78 each.

Find they last us about 6 months each before the top section get worn down, but they are getting used hard every day of the week and they probably don't receive the care and attention that a sole trader gives to their equipment!!

Macmac - My other half was making me a pole from Harris decorators poles which don't seem to last very long and is sometimes just a little short - I would say that it is almost as light as that.  He uses Gardiners bulk standard 18ft pole - which I can use but by the end of the day find I'm knackered - even the 35ft is lighter than that one!!!
