Wouldn't it be better to do it on your own computer - at least at first anyway?
Doing it yourself, you can experiment with what layout you are happiest with.  Maybe When you arrive at the design you like the best, maybe then see a printer.
Having said that, I think all my business stationery needs a makeover.  I am starting to move on a bit with my business and want to step up to the next phase.  Although it's about clean windows, a better preesentation would serve me well too.

I did mine myself.  Certainlyu much much cheaper than having them printed, afterall, you are not canvassing simply telling people you have been already.

I have a friend who owns his own printing business, it's easier to show up with something he can see what i'm after and then leave it with him to tweak.

Yes I do get occasional postal orders.  I didn't have postal orders on there originally but when a few paid that way, I altered the wording - one reason why I suggested not to use a printing shop at the beginning.  There are a few people who do not have a cheque account and who find BACS payments or telephone banking payments difficult.  These are usually older people who have not adapted to certain aspects of modern society.  Also, I believe one bank at least does not give a cheque book to new customers (first direct maybe?) and this may escalate as more and more companies refuse to take payments by cheque.

Didn't realise that at first of course.  If you've a friend who can sort it out for you then that's so much easier of course.

on front mine says

Ladderless Window Cleaner
Your windows have been cleaned today

 Date                             £

Please send a cheque made payable to M SAXON in envelope provided.

We now offer a whole range of cleaning services, including carpet cleaning, gutter cleaning, fascias, conservatory roof cleaning and many more…just ask!

and on back

Payment Details

It couldn’t be simpler to send payment, just pop a cheque in the SAE and post.

Cheques made payable to M SAXON.

Payment must be sent within 14 days.

If payment is not received within in 30 days of clean then a late fee of £2.50 will be added to the bill.

with contact details on to, the £2.50 threat works a treat, and saying you do other services has brought in a fair bit of work too

i have 3 different cards, those in white, i have red ones for i will call back and blue ones for online payment, all with same layout but different instructions

Different cards is clever LWC, and the fact that they are card and not paper is better. One of the things with my little things is I feel they could get lost. (say they're on hoiday and come back to a pile of letters, free papers ,junk mail)

Many of us claim to be offering a superior service, and maybe for a small cost this is one of the ways that we can get a perception of this professionalism across to the customer.

Some customers put cash in the envelope and through my door but I don't feel the need to list this as an option because it is obvious to them. Similarly I feel mentioning postal orders is a redundancy.
