If you have the space to install a static system, then I can't see why on earth anyone would want to drag all that equipment around with them.  If you've already got a fully van mounted set-up, though, I don't know if it would be economical to change to static.

The advantage of static, apart from not having to carry it around with you, is that you can choose when you want to make pure water - fill your van tank then set your RO going and refill the static tank while you're at work.

I did this. I come back at twelveish and refill my 400l tank in minutes via the transfer pump. Works brilliantly for me.

When I ramble on about investment this is the kind of thing I mean.You do need somewhere to put an 1000l ibc (cost £100- or less off local farmer). Then you need a submersible transfer pump and hose.

The benefits are your van is not tied to the house, if you get home tired you can just leave it. Fill up in minutes the next morning and then leave it producing while you go off to work.

I used to have to fill my van every night, what a chore.

The other thing I did Ewan was take my di off and put it before the ibc. Therefore what I put on the van is double digit zero.

I asked about this before i did it because I thought it should be possible but didn't know for sure. Dave st Ives said he does it and that was good enough for me.

Why do we carry all this useless clutter and junk around on our vans?

The other reason was that I was pioneering the hot system at the time and didn't like the idea of hot going through either my pump or a DI. Again and again I have found the simpler the better to be the best route.

Your question. does this make life easier? Is the one I am always asking, hence water production off the van, hot system, electric reel, pole hose spool, george, pro leaflets..

I haven't got pro payment slips yet.

I am in the middle of doing this myself more being forced to do it when van died on me, it is a right pain filling tank every night. As soon as I finish work I have to start again.

If you have the space I would 100% do it.
