Short , Longer Pole.
« on: May 12, 2008, 08:50:27 pm »
Hi all,

Can anyone tell me where i can find a nice lightweight pole , long enough extended, to do 3rd floor etc,, but small enough to fit in the van..

i have a 21 ft X-TEL... which is 5ft closed.. and it only just fits .. corner to corner in the van.. ( because of the bulkhead)

but i want a little more height.

also which pole do you recommend for downstairs..  i use mine for both,... but want one so i can do tops and someone else do the bottgoms.

thanks.

Gary.

Buy a longer pole and cut some off each section, you could have base section 5ft next section 4ft 11" next section 4ft 10" next section 4ft 9" and so on,a short pole with a lot of section for that extra height when you need it.Alex will build a pole like this for you.

Buy the SL-X from gardiners it's the business, realy. It will do everything from ground to 30ft. Don't know the actual closed length without measuring it but what i have always done is to cut a hole in the bulkhead for the base of the pole to go through (using a proper hole saw).

The SL-X is about 5-6 inches shorter than the 21ft X-Tel when closed.

To do most third floor modern houses you need at least 24 feet pole
For old houses you could need 30 feet
Get 30 feet be sure

There you go & keep in mind the sl-x is an ACTUAL 25ft. It's considerably shorter than the 24ft (actual about 21ft) facelift when collapsed & cheaper ( & better  :-[ )  ;)
