Protective gloves
« on: April 19, 2008, 10:34:24 am »
I use the blue nitrile gloves when cleaning upholstery and using Fabric Restorer. These type of gloves start to disintigrate towards the end of the job.

Does anybody know of gloves that are resistant to solvents such as this?

Although I haven't used Fabric Restorer for many years, I do use Nitrile gloves.

I never had a problem with Fab Rest anyway.

The gloves I have at present are branded UCI Nitrile RNF15 and are claimed to be effective against:
Petroleum related products
Animal fats
Solvents and alkalis

One supplier I used in the past sold me some blue Vileda Multipurpose gloves. They were NOT Nitrile, totally unsuitable and I had the same trouble that you are experiencing. The similar in appearance Vileda Nitrile's are a heavier, thicker glove and perform well.

Hope this helps

SAFE and happy cleaning :)
