pressure problems!!
« on: April 05, 2008, 08:12:58 pm »
hi all

has anyone suffered from flow/pressure problems while using a sureflo?

ran out some micro bore today (about 30m), ran pump, connected pole - nothing! o actually a very very small trickle!!

went back to check for kinks, none! pump was running and then stopped as it had got upto pressure.

went back to pole - nothing! repeated the above 3-4 times before pulling all the hose back to van, then it started to work!!!!!????

i am thinking air lock or something?

Do you have waterstop quick connectors? One of them could be faulty? Or a blocked pipe or jet?

checked strainer and is clear.

thing is it works most of the time then this was the second time that it has happened.

where did you get the pressure switch from? thing is i have only had the pump for about 6 weeks and it hasn't had a great deal of use??

I had this problem when i had my reel outside the van and it was a pain in the back side for a long time, then my dad said run the pump befor you connect to the reel that way you know the pump is pumping water.
never had the problem again but i do use a varistream flow control.

hope this helps.

One of my pumps is getting tired seems to take 5 mins until the flow rate is acceptable, dont think it is air as everything is now aor tight with jubilee connectors
