Only started cc'ing as a standalone business in November last year and the answer is no. Hence the advertising spend. However, I only need 4 days worth of good jobs for it to be lucrative for me. November, half of December & 1st week of January were very busy. This year it has been very worrying. I would be interested to hear what the more established guys have to say.

Some people think their busy and only work to 2pm ::)

Unless you are very good at marketing and organising your marketing systems then like me you wait for the phone to ring.  Id say on average Im working 4.5 days a week first job at 9, home for around 5pm.

Having said that on Wednesday I had no jobs booked for next week but now have 4 full days.  Im never booked more than 2 weeks in advance but some seem to be booked 4-5 weeks in advance.  Its a funny old game.  Been at it for nearly 9 years.

Mark

PS. I think this year will be a difficult year esp for new starts so be careful how you market.

Its not just CC, all business are up & down. You wont clean a carpet on Xmas day, but unless you book earley you wont get a table at a restaurant!
First week in Jan you will be hard pushed to get your carpets cleaned, no problem booking a table in a restauant!

It is difficult to maintain a good income for the first few years, we are booked (fully) for the next five weeks.

This is down to a large client base built up over the last 24 years and a continuing investment in marketing and management, we continue to try and dominate the area we are in +30 miles around.
