sticking pole sections
« on: March 02, 2008, 08:31:40 pm »
i ve just been reading past topics about modular poles, the pro s and cons.one of the biggest problems is sections sticking together. as an angler and used to this problem i ve found the easy way to prevent this is just to rub candle wax on the male section. the reason they stick is because the joint becomes airtight and causes a vaccum the wax stops this happening. also to release two sections get two mates to slowly pull and twist either end while you tap the joint somtimes takes acouple of minutes hope this helps

Hi MB, doesnt always work if you have a spiral pattern like a Garbolino, some use silicon spray or wd40 regularly. I use a few wraps of pvc tape to butt "lock" the joint from compressing because we use them vertically.
