Customers who want stuff done for nothing!!
« on: February 26, 2008, 09:50:14 am »
Had a call just now from a woman....

Cust: Hello can you please tell me how much it will be to clean a 3 piece suite

Me: £85 inc VAT

Cust: Oh thats expensive!

Me: What are you basing that on that its too expensive?

Cust: A friend who has just had hers cleaned

Me: Did they do a good job?

Cust: Oh yes it came up beautiful

Me: Then the question has to be if they did such a good job why arent you getting them to do it?

Cust: Oh emmm oh emmm I just thought Id give you a try as it said half price stainguard on the leaflet.

Me: Yes but do you know what Stainguard is?

Cust: Oh yes I think so.

Who needs this nonsense? I get all my leaflets delivered to posher houses so its not as though she couldnt afford it!

There`s your problem the customers in big houses always want everything for nothing.

I`v found the little old lady who hasnt got a lot knows the value and effort that goes in to what we do and they appreciate it, the better off expect Harrods goods at Asda prices.

I have known customers in big posh houses get the 99p jar off coffee out for the trades man and the Kenco when her friend pops round,

They dont get rich by giving money away.

And have you noticed these can be the difficult ones to get paid from, i did a rental for a dentist a couple of years ago and it took me months to get paid.

Tell them that do something at such short notice qualifies it as emergency job and as such, incurs a premium  ;D
