I understand rural locations are really poor for websites.

Doug,
do you find having many sites the key to getting lots of internet traffic over just having one site and marketing that alone?

I understand rural locations are really poor for websites.

I'm in a rural area and get a decent amount of hits, must just have a rubbish website.

I now have 10, wasn't that long ago I thought Doug was mad because he had 6. I've created most of them over the last few weeks so they aren't ranking yet.

Asked about the keywords as I have only put in the words I would search, just wondered if I was missing something obvious  ??? Ian Harpson wrote yesterday that he gets most of his hits from the search word 'Anthea Turner' !! I would suggest that they don't convert to customers anyway, how many people do you know that have any idea that Anthea Turner is involved with a carpet cleaning company?

Maybe it's an idea Mike Boxall could use to promote Spick & Span, how about Gerald Ratner, Rusty Lee or Frank Bough, bet they would do it for a free carpet clean and a bar of chocolate too  :P

How do you get up the rankings to the first  page consistanly.

Im hopefully getting a website sometime this year when I get round to it.

If sites work so well why is yell.com rubbish even with an enhanced listing.
