5 year goal
« on: February 16, 2008, 11:14:20 am »
It is often said a football match with no goals is just 22 blokes kicking a ball about.

Where do we see ourselves in 5 years?

I would like 20k a month rented out for 20% to 6-8 men. Plus an extra guy on 15k a year to float and keep everyone on their toes. Pays me about 35k a year for doing a little paperwork.

Just to inspire a little confidence in this venture, I have a good friend who is only in his early 20s that has canvassed and rented out 15k a month. He has done this in 4 years. And has been living in the dominican republic with his wife in a 3 bedroom apartment on the beach for the last 6 months. What makes it worse is while the little git was doing this, he was working for me!!!! I knew he was canvassing but didnt realize to what extent.
Anyway we are still good friends and I am pleased to know that my plan is totally acheivable because it is already being done.

Bigup TLC if your reading...... git..... ;)

Oh well, I thought this one would have gone well, maybe everyone has already achieved their goals or maybe we dont want anyone else nicking our ideas! looks like this one is heading for the dark depths of the archive.

Or maybe we were too busy working to have time to read it   ;D

Maybe, Maybe not. Good to hear you have them though. Its a sad fact that too many people drift through life unhappy with their lot without a single goal, and wonder why they are in the same situation 1,2,3 years later.

I am ok with my situation but I will always want to earn more and work less. :)

You only have to read the newspaper to see that a life of luxury does not guarantee happiness.

Some  of the most contented and inwardly happy people I know have very little materially.

But it's nice not to have financial worries though.

I totally agree.
I dont think my goal of 35k a year will bring that much luxury. I am on that now and I live an average lifestyle. No porche or swimming pools here. If you think about it, my goal is to reduce my income and do much less work.

Goals dont have to be about earning more money. My ultimate goal is to not have to work at all, pay the bills and spend all my time with my wife and kids.

Please don't take this as a "holier than thou" spouting - I truly mean this:- My five year goal is for me and my family to be alive and healthy. That will mean all the riches in the world to me.
It's a game of three halves!
