Hi Darren,

Sorry, only just noticed the post :

Setting 2 is fine for all.  Mind you have been using setting 3 (knackered pump ).

I started of using Setting 1 but it's a bit slow so I turned up to setting 2 but used the flow valve to reduce the water whilst scrubbing then whacked up the flow for rinsing. Just lately I have not reduced the flow, due to a slow,and eventually knackered, pump.  I think I have strained the pump by reducing the flow and eventually knackered it :.

All said and done; Setting 2 full on scrub and rinse you should do a standard size window in 30 secs and do about 25 to 30 standard sized window on a pack full.

the main reason I had so many problems with my backpack (RIP) was because I was always trying to run it with hot water which caused me so many problems. With cold water it was fine most of the time. The pump was always packing in when I used hot water.

The reason I chucked it was because: 1. It was too slow to work with. 2. It was heavier than lifting a van mount hose. 3.Had to keep charging the battery or replacing with a spare battery 4. The electrical connections kept coming loose. 5. The pump kept packing in when using hot water. 6. Had to keep going back to the van to refil.
You might have guessed by now just why I chucked mine from 4storeys up over a balcony. I like working fast and working with a backpack is just a ******** nightmare as it keeps slowing you down. Can never get into a smooth, steady pace of work.

cheers dave i was using setting 1 for scrubbing 2 for rinsing but like yourself i have started using 2 for everything-could you tell me whats the longest pole you have used with the backpack as i was using a 27ft the other day and it seemed to drain the battery quick and the windows didnt come up the best-i was thinking of using setting 3 or 4 for the next clean(weekly)do you think it would help wayne i used hot water in mine yesterday for the first time from what your saying thats a bad idea

I had lots of pump problems because I was filling my backpack with hot water. It's up to you if you wish to use hot. All I'm saying is with hot water, my pump kept packing in, would work a few hours later or next day again if I went back to cold water water. If you are using hot water, why are you bothering to fluff around with backpacks unless you're working in restricted areas where van mount is not practical?

I got fed up with mine as well and ended up scrapping it.  It was more trouble than it was worth.
