Does anyone use it  or soddium  metabisulfite.

They are reducing agents good for fruit  stains and the like  in synthetic carpets

It works very fast.

so need to practice but the question is where do you get some.

It might have a more common name?

My  local shop sells a tub for £1.
Just be careful using it on wool.It is very good for reducing tannin stains.
I will post some pics later when ive got time.

Useful article about bleaches. I am sure most have seen it.

A little knowledge is dangerous (especially with bleaches) as I have found out once before.

I did a Chinese 100% hand knotted rug recently ( picturs below) She had spilled a pot of hot tea on it and made a stain about the size of a dinner plate. After cleaning it with a tannin remover the stain I completely made the stain invisible using sodium metabisulphate. It took 5 applications and a little skill, but the end result was a rug like new.
