Those eyebolts are not always built for the vans payload but often they are, you have to check with the manufacturer though. Luke

I do feel safe with mine but I wouldn't take liberties with my driving - just in case.
Had mine fitted by Omnipole.  They've had quite a bit of practice so it should be fine.

I hope your driver got out and made sure he didnt lose all the water.

jokes aside 70mph back on they are lucky to be alive sod the tank in that situation I would be more worried about myself looking like the next road kill.

Hope you told them off for driving to close to the van infront.  ::)

70mph after braking????? In nearly all crashes both drivers have a chance to reduce their speeds by some amount, was that the case in this crash?  Luke

Years ago when I was repping I had a sierra (what else!) and braked sharply from 70mph as the car infront slammed on the anchors - I was rear ended but hardly any damage because we were going in the same direction and our relative speeds were probably within ten mph at point of impact.

If I was doing 70 and hit someone in front doing 50, as long as we were travelling in the same direction we should be ok unless one of us skids off into a bridge pillar or something.

It's the head on and side on (90degree) smacks at closing speed that are worse. (usually)
It's a game of three halves!

That sounds like one heck of a crash test.
I'm delighted to hear no-one was hurt.

I hope it was on a motorway too.
They are the only roads you can legally drive a vehicle of that weight at 70 in the UK
