coconut oil
« on: December 03, 2007, 07:40:59 pm »

I am going to a regular custys house in morning, to remove cocnut oil, or the reidule she has left in :-\ :-\

She spilt it a couple of weeks ago, and simply cleaned up with washing up liquid and water, great she thought it dissapeared , but now she has rang saying a black mark has appeared ;D  .

I am guessing its a simple case  of dirt been attracted to the remaining liquid, and therfore h/w/e will do the trick :)  However just to put my mind at ease, never dealing with coconut oil, has anybody come across cocnut oil before? and if so should i be thinking along different lines?

Apparently the oil she uses is something to do with dry scalp!!

Sounds like a right assumption on your behalf. If the carpet is wool/wool rich then shouldn't be too much of a problem as wool tends to repel oil based stains.

Whilst the black mark should disappear fairly easily your problem is that you won't know exactly for how long to flush through the carpet to fully extract any residue.

To avoid me looking like a fool I usually explain this and state it may come back but looking far less worse and encourage client to phone and book another flushing. I also explain there will be a further charge for an additional call-back (although not usually at the same price). This tends to stop frivolous call-backs when realistically the problem has been solved.

Hope this helps.

Doctor Carpet,

A valid point made, although this will be a freebe for my custy.

She does have a regular clean throughout and is treasurer of local parish commitee, who is quite influential localy , and does refer the parish hall cleaning onto me. so I think the odd freebie wont go amiss  ;)

Geoff

I quite agree with you.

The nice thing about being your own boss is that you can choose to break your own rules if there is a good reason to do so.

Hope it goes ok.
