hi matey dont you need a licence for this to trade on car parks? my friend decided to park his burger van on a car park and tried to trade without a licence, he got fined and banned he told me??  think you might need permission from the car park owners, did not know you do valeting!!,  ???

when i was in brighton, i parked in a multi story car park. there was about 2 or 3 cleaners on each floor, offering to clean your car while you were away and it was cheap, and from what i could see they did a good job and i think its a great idea too!

its not like you gotta wait for it to be cleaned cause youll be away shopping! genius

You will see if you get around the country that there are more and more of these springing up.

Sainsburys use a firm and they are on a lot of their carparks, so do Tesco, not sure about Asda and Morrisons etc.

On my local Somerfield I know two lads who have a cracking little valeting business but they worked at the dtore and got the go ahead through contacts.

Multi streys are becoming a market for these valeters as well.

Don,t be dissuaded by a market that may look flooded go out and get a piece of the action for yourself.

Heres a little tip, target a couple of golf clubs

hi mate from my experiance yes canteens and burger vans do need a liscence, they must pay rent because they are trading from a space in the car park (I know this because I do a six mounthly clean on two for a st austell firm) but with valeting as long as you are not trading where you are parked ie working for money which you cannot do as a parking space only fits one car whereas a canteen requires an additional space for customers to wait, and as long as the custemer has a valid ticket there is nothing stopping you from valeting,I personally use the dry cleaning system from eurochem, why use the drycleaning system? because you avoid the problems of enviremental issues ie water contamination hope this helps dsc

I think it would be all in how you presented the offer.

Golf clubs seem to be a boys school of relative wealth and I know that I would like nothing more than the prestige of someone cleaning my car whilst I enjoyed a round.

I would go in with a well thought through portfolio and cover letter, good quality business card and I would ask if there would be an opportunity to offer his clients an on site valeting service.

I would explain to him how it could be mutually beneficial as it would be one more service from his point of view and you would get paid to clean the cars.

People are at the golf club for at least a whole morning.

I will stick my neck out and say that for a external wash with pure water rinse I would want to see £10.00 on a small car, £12.50 on a medium and £15.00 for a large vehicle.

If you present it, your van and yourself why shouldn't the managers be interested.

Saw a team of chaps in a morrissons car park in redcar I think.  Only charge about 3-5 quid I think.
Last time I saw him had a chat and he said he was a mate of the manager so thats how he got the permission.  He was flat out busy.  A good little bit of income if you can get a good patch.
Veni, vidi, vino, splatus.
