Leaflets with prices or leaflets without?
« on: October 24, 2007, 04:39:19 pm »
Hi, new to the forum and carpet cleaning and need a bit of advice.

I've been on the prochem course and they advised us not to put prices on any advertising, i.e. leaflets. I know different areas will have different quotations and will be prepared to pay different prices.

What works for you guys?

I've just delivered 10,000 leaflets with offers, expiry date, testimonials, money back guarantee and got around 5/6 calls from them (without prices).

A leaflet with prices normally grabs my attention, not too sure I'd be motivated to call without them. Though, I suppose the ones that call will be the customers that want their carpets cleaning regardless of the headline, message etc.

Your views would be much appreciated.

Im my limited experience if you put prices on advertising you filter out the price shoppers as they simply wont ring if you are too expensve, however you could lose work becuase without the opportunity to give them your sales pitch you are losing the chance to sell yourslef, also if you can go to measure up you can look at extra rooms, ive been to loads of surveys where customer has said "your more expensive than i thought" but still gone ahead, you dont get that with prices advertised.  Id say your prices and who you market to will play a part, if you are going after low cost and volume then you may be better adtertivins prices and cut out the suveys, if you are going for top end charges then id definetelly not advertise price.

the question is, how high can you go before putting people off, when I put prices on my leaflets I was @ £75 for a T/L and still got lots of call. it cut out a lot of price shoppers and usually they just called and booked an appointment.

you can't put on a price for suite cleaning.

hi desmond... have tryed both ways over the years, with prices ,and without,I personally found without price,s brought me more work in. did a twelve month trial.putting a lot of thought into your leaflets will also make a big difference as to whether the customer hangs on to it,or puts it in the bin.....mike

Your response rate is low ideally  you should have had 30 calls.

Leaflet the same area again.

How did they go out if in a Free Paoer although distribution costs less response rates fall

Problem with price is you compete against Through lounge £60 now £30 adverts

In this area we are getting a lot of these and it does start to give customers an idea that Carpet Cleaning is as Cheap as Chips
