conservatoy roof cleaning brush
« on: October 21, 2007, 06:48:41 pm »
I have done quite a lot of conservatory roof cleans this week and a have been using the new vikan mono filament brush, but it still has trouble moving the moss and algee from the conservatory roofs.Do you fine gentlemen use a stiffer brush for this kind of work and if so were did you get them from, on the same subject i have heard of a white scourer pad that can be used without scratching the soft plastic on conservatory roofs.

I use a cladding brush with stiffer bristles as supplied by Omnipole (and maybe others).  It's fine for polycarbonate but I wouldn't risk it on glass in case it would scratch.

Lets go down the TFR route  because I have never used it but I am more than willing to learn. I have two questions.

(1) Where do you get it from?

(2) what do you use to apply it ?

Halfords used to sell a caravan cleaning brush which fitted onto a hosepipe and into which you put a detergent stick. You could add extensions to reach even the largest roof.
I used to have one but I gave it away a couple of years ago when I thought I was packing up. ( long story)

Last time I went into Halfords they didn't have any and since none of the staff had been there longer than six months they didn't know what I was talking about

Really? I'll have to look at that. I'm going to hit the conservatory roof business hard next year. There are a lot out there.
