I'm just thinking if you can only afford £400 for a machine, have you really thought through all the other costs involved that probably mean a lot more than £400.

Insurance or are you prepared to gamble.
Van? + bills
Pump up sprayers, vacs etc etc
And then there's you marketing costs!

I think you need at least £2k to get you going working eve and weekends even with £400 machine.

A quote from an earlier post of the originator. - "it is just for cleaning the odd domestic carpet and doesn't have to be an industrial cleaner".

Now we all know how good Nemesis Super & M Power is and 5 litres goes a long way and does a great job.

If it was manually agitated with a stiff carpet brush (thats cheap).

and then using something like a Neumatic George (again cheap) - I wonder what the result would be like????

to assist drying could even pick up a 2nd hand air mover for what - £100ish

Now thats cheap & within budget

and remember   "it is just for cleaning the odd domestic carpet and doesn't have to be an industrial cleaner".

I am not planning on going into business as a carpet cleaner just to do the odd small carpet or rug, if i was going to promote myself as a carpet cleaner then i would happily pay £2000 plus to do it professionally.
