Other uses for RO water
« on: October 06, 2007, 02:17:35 pm »
Hello

I would appreciate any thoughts on the following....

Besides cleaning with the water fed pole what other uses are there for the RO water.

For instance, can I drink the water that comes out of the RO at 15ppm (before it hits the DI)?

Could I keep my tropical fish in the same 15ppm water?

I believe that the 0ppm water would be not suitable for the above 2 uses.

I am measuring the TDS of my tap water at 230-300, is that particularly high?

Thanks

Thanks for the response.

It seems the fish water requires some of the minerals to be put back in before using.

And the waste water from RO is good for watering plants, I have read somewhere.

you can drink water that has been through DI resin and reads 000 ppm,.. BUT make sure your resin is rated for drinking water as a lot of it isn't. Ro-man sell resin that's suitable for drinking water.
