Don't be nasty Dave. It reminded me of a full page advert in our Yellow pages, quote,'because we use only the latest equipment from said company , acknowledged as the worlds leading steam cleaning system' etc etc .
Made me laugh!
Mike.

Dave! that price is the standard price they offer anyone as I have just looked at there website, Extracta sold good solid machines but that was more than ten years ago, i dont think they have improved there products over the years, I was in there shop a couple of weeks ago in gateshead, they appear to be in a time lock, i remember john saying to me when I was looking at machines and I diddn't know any differant about pump preasures I said I had been looking at the Alltec machine, It had a 100 psi pump and asked if theres could also, he told me I diddn't want one of those as it blow the pile off the carpet

There sales brouchere has some pictures in it that make me laugh. Someone loading one of there machines into the back of  brown A reg Ford Orion. Wearing bell bottoms and with a mullet.

Stuck in a time warp.

They are still quite good machines just they have not moved on plus John's patter would convince anyone new to the business

And if you were a new starter you would believe him too unless you had done a little research

Hi Guys

I used Extracta for years but agree machines are the same as they were 12 years ago.

I also found John's attitude to be unhelpful when I suffered a  series of pipe bursts and vac failures.

In my view the Alltec Advantage is streets ahead for a similar spec machine.

Cheers

Doug

I think it was Brian at extracta who has kept them going for so long at least you can have a conversation with him without him ramming extracta down your throat all the time unlike John.

Well I have an Excel and think its a good machine even though ive had more than my fair share of problems with it! I cannot comment on anyone elses machines as Ive only ever used an Extracta built machine.

The reason I will probably always use them is that they are only 20 mins down the road which is incredibly handy when things go wrong with the machine and I can just zoom it down the motorway to them and they can almost always fix it while I wait which is unbeatable service!

The price of the chemicals are a little on the high side which is why I get a lot of them now from Restormate (again 20 mins down the road).

Fixing the machine can also be an expensive process but I suppose when you have lads behind the scenes doing the work they need to be paid. I dont know what all the other companies charge.

So to sum up, happy with my Excel. Does a smashing job with their Scrubber! Expensive to fix and chemicals are pricey. But I like John and Brian, they are nice to talk to even though sometimes they are blatantly biased towards their products, but wouldn't you be?

well said i still go there for bits and one of my exles will be there for a new vac soon , i get on with both of them very well but john can be alittle corse at times , in all the years ive had exels they have never let me down , and the two lads have bent over backwards to help me on the road but i do think they need to open there eyes and make a new exle and better chems for sure

however maybe they dont want too !!! and trust  there defo not short of a bob or two

saying that i will be chopping up two of the five exels next week as  they both have over 8000 hours on so they need to go leaveing a speace for maybe anthor truck mount  ;D
