you could go to 11.50 ph and justify it by suppling toilet brushes  ;D  :o

I would look at it like this, how much more money do you need each month from your existing customers?

  say 150 quid

divide that 150 between your customers and see how much extra it works out per customer.

if like you say you got some who you do more for then give them a bigger share of the 150, and the ones you do less for vice versa. and then increase your price every year with a letter explaining that in order to remain in line with the rate of inflation you have to increase your prices by 3%

I always use first of October and NMW increase as basis for increases. I just pop a covering letter on last invoice at old rate saying sorry but being a labour based market i have to pass it on blah blah.

Never had anyone question one, next invoice just has new price.

If they won’t wear a price increase cut your cleaning time down under advisement to them.

Think it’s to cover the cost of the smoking ban.

Did you increase your fee?  How did your clients react?

I am waiting until new year and will use national minimum wage as the reason.I will let you know how I get along, drafting a letter over next couple of days!

The holiday entitlement has just went from 4 weeks to 4.8. Now might be a better time .
