Flyers & Wording
« on: October 01, 2007, 11:23:23 am »
Hi, just started as a traditional window cleaner and got 31 customers in my first week by door-knocking.  ;D

I'm looking to get some flyers printed and deliver these, so I have a 'warm' lead when I go door-knocking again, as quite a few people were downright rude about being cold-called at their door.

Thing is, I'm struggling with the wording of the flyers - Can anyone help me out here, with some great proven customer winning wording ??

Many Thanks, Dave.

Keep  The flyer straight to the point, you have about 3 secs max to grab their attention or it will hit the bin faster.
words that work for us:

Window Cleaner, reliable, professional, all year round service,

Other things that will also help:
Your company name, a website address, an email address with your company name not something like  unprofessional@yahoo.co.uk as it look just that.
a landline contact number and mobile.
bulltin points like:

  • window cleaning
  • Gutter cleaning
  • Conservatory roof cleaning
  • cladding & soffit cleaning

I get a very good return on leatlets we put out, as I have all of the above on every leaflet, I cant say this will work for everyone but it does work for me.
As long as it is clear spelt correctly it will bring in new custom, do not get down hearted if you do not get any calls on the first day, I have had people call 3 or 4 months later, I tend now to offer a discount till say "15% discount on every service till 14th oct 2007" this I find gets them to ring quicker, I always leaflet again a month later as people do forgot to call, again have this all the time and have been doing the same thing for years,

hope this helps a little.  ;)

Ian,

Thanks for your sound advice - I will give it a try.

I especially like the idea of offering them a discount up until a certain date.  Never thought about the gutter cleaning aspect, but that makes perfect sense too.

Thanks again,

DAVE.
