I would wfp from the start I cant see the point in doing them traditional  and using soap only to have to rinse extra to get rid of it when you convert them.
I took on a new job last week the windows and frames where minging the clean took me at least 2 1/2 times what  the maintenance clean will be but the customer was delighted with the clean.
First cleans wfp are not a problem if you follow some of the excellent advice on here.

well...wfp to start, and carry on that way...you trad a house first time the customer will be expecting you to trad it...you wfp it first time. they will expect you to wfp first

understand?

If a job consists of dirty windows - as in bird's muck, cobwebs, dirt etc. - then wfp will work fine if you spend enough time on a first clean. (and charge accordingly - of course)

To do it trad. would IMO introduce soap unnecessarily to the job.

If it is builders residue, paint, sealant etc. then only a scraper and solvents will do the trick - so you have to get up close and personal!
It's a game of three halves!

I probably can give you a good answer to this question as I have only recently started window cleaning ( 6 months ago ) and have only just gone wfp a month ago so the trad first cleans are fresh in my mind!! I have now done alot of wfp first cleans and I can tell you that wfp is much much much quicker. I mean what do you do with a really filthy plate, soak it in water, you dont get damp cloths and start rubbing. Well wfp is like that, it drowns the window in water making it mush faster and easier ( keeping yourself clean too ). Luke
